FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has said that his team is now aiming for the treble after Tuesday night’s straightforward 2-0 quarter-final win at home against Paris Saint-Germain. This sent his team through to the last four via a 5-1 aggregate score.
Any chance that PSG had of turning the tie around evaporated in the 14th minute when Neymar latched on to the fabulous through ball from Iniesta.
The result leaves Barca on course for the treble, with the team currently two points clear at the top of La Liga, and also scheduled to play Athletic Bilbao in May’s Copa del Rey final.
Asked after the game if the treble was possible the Barcelona manager was accepting of the huge challenge.
“That is our desire, we hope so,” Luis Enrique said. “That is what we have been working for with the players, to be in position to go for all the trophies.
“La Liga is still difficult, we have opponents fighting for it. In the Champions there will be three teams with the same chances as us. In the Copa del Rey the other finalist is Athletic, who always cause us problems. So there is still work to do.”
